If your oppenent forfeits during the middle of a ladder challenge, how should it be registered? Default or Victory? He didn't give any reason. Just said he had to forfeit the game.

Shouldn't a forfeiture be treated as a duel victory, since it's sort of like a in real combat?
Just wondering...

I agree, except we all seem to forget this is not real combat. Since I will not have the same access to the internet that I did a few weeks ago, my responses will be erratic and widely spaced in time. I felt that was unfair to my opponents. So I forfeited and allowed you to get on with other games.

Apparently, the good deed that I tried to perform has gone misunderstood.

I guess it is true what they say about nice guys. TD.

Actually td, you sent me an email simply saying that you had to forfeit the game without any reason. In my reply to that email I mentioned that if you needed more time it wouldn't be problem on this end. After 4-5 days without a response I assumed you just weren't interested in playing anymore. I'd be happy to continue the game. Send your next turn whenever you can get access to the internet. No rush on this end. If you know ahead of time that you can't respond for awhile just give me a heads-up. Look forward to resuming the battle.

A forfeit or default IS teated the same as an actual victory.
Sometimes a player will default for reasons other than a hopeless situation, and it is often the gentlemanly thing to do in certain cases.
