I think I lost track of what updates I need for which scenario(s). I think it's Advance on Murmansk? It's listed under AK, so I guess I need their datup and all?

Ok, we need compatible dat files, sounds, and e-files correct? So can I use the RSF data & sounds with the SSI e-files? Or to use the SSI e-files does the rest have to be original? *sigh* Gettin lost sux.

I'm not sure what you call 'e-files'.

Anyway, each PG2 equipment basically consists of 3 parts:

1. panzer2.dat
This file contains all icons and other images.
I don't know that much about the DATUP; I understand it's an update to the panzer2.dat.

2. equip97.eqp and equip97.txt
These files contain the unit data (.eqp) and the unit designations (.txt).

In the equip97.eqp, each unit has a specific number ('unit code'), which refers to the same number in the panzer2.dat. Different e-files use different unit codes!

That means:
a) panzer2.dat and equip97.* must correspond! Otherwise, in the game you might see a Tiger with the combat values and behavior of a Spitfire, e.g.! Could be a little confusing
b) Using the AK equipment for an RSF scenario you might encounter the 'Bismarck' in a truck inmidst the desert, e.g.! Not too funny, either.
c) But, good news: you can use the RSF equipment for SSI scenarios, because those are 100% unit compatible (just slightly different values, but a Tiger remains a Tiger).

3. *.mel
The sound files. They have no influence on the game, i.e. you can play with wrong sound files, but you won't enjoy this, either.

So I urgently recommend you to make a separate PG2 installation for each equipment you use (SSI, RSF, AK) and to install all appropriate e-files (1 - 3) in each of them.

*thumbs up*
I got ya. What I(and other sites) am calling the E-File are the bundle containing the .eqp, .txt and others too. Gui97.txt and a zip for allnationsunit codes. There are a multitude of them out there that area blast! Thanks for the info Rayy!
